ICE WaRM has assisted a five-day workshop in the Pakistani city of Lahore, focusing on next generation river modelling.
The new modelling tools will support decision-making for improved management of river and channel systems of the Indus basin in Pakistan.
The Australian government-backed workshop was organized by the CSIRO in partnership with ICE WaRM and eWater, and was attended by many of the Pakistani water industry’s leading engineers.
Among the water industry authorities represented were the Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority, the Indus River System Authority, the Pakistan Commissioner for Indus Waters, the Pakistan Meteorology Department, the Planning Commission, provincial irrigation departments and universities.
