More than 40 professionals took part in a special ICE WaRM workshop on the Mathematics of Water Supplies and Pricing at Surfers Paradise in Queensland in mid-July.

ICE WaRM teamed with our companion ICE in Mathematics Education, the Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute and the Australian Research Council’s Centre for Excellence for Mathematics and Statistics of Complex Systems to deliver the workshop.

The programme included international speakers from France and Canada, as well as experts from Victoria, South Australia and the ACT.

The seminar covered water trading and pricing models; network modelling and management; demand forecasting; risk management; monitoring water quality; network optimisation and water economics.
